1. QUESTION

In what position should the bottles be kept to keep them in the best way?

2. DESCRIPTION

The bottles must be stored in a horizontal position, so that the cork remains in contact with the wine, remaining moist and elastic.

If the bottle were stored in a vertical position, the cork would dry out, favoring the entry of oxygen inside the bottle which would shorten the life of our wine.

Some mistakenly think that the contact between wine and cork can give the bottle the defect “cork smell”, in reality this is not the case: if the cork is healthy remaining in contact with the wine it will not cause defects, if instead the cork is defective and contains the famous trichloroanisole (molecule responsible for the defect) our wine will taste like a cork even if the bottle is kept upright.
